About me
Mikael Wintzell has been building businesses since the age of 13 and has never really stopped. He went from desktop publishing and web design to retail to fintech, accumulating more hard-won experience in his twenties than most people manage in a career. Along the way he built a consumer credit company, ran a supply chain business, and spent years in senior commercial roles at PayEx and Klarna, where he rose to Deputy CCO and led the company's expansion into Germany.
In 2016 he co-founded Wellstreet together with Sïmon Saneback, with the conviction that the best thing you can offer a founder is someone who has genuinely been in the trenches, made the mistakes, and kept going anyway. The firm was never meant to be a conventional VC and still isn't.
When he is not building the next thing, he is out on the water somewhere along the Swedish west coast, which he has called home since long before it became fashionable.
