Tab Technology

Tab Technology built the infrastructure layer for real-time digital receipts in the Nordic financial ecosystem. Founded in 2024 by Calle Mellbin and Hector Zarate, with backgrounds from Bolt and Spotify, the company solved a fundamental gap: while digital payments were ubiquitous, the data behind each transaction stayed locked at the point of sale. Tab's API-first platform connected merchants and point-of-sale systems directly with card issuers, banks, and expense management platforms, delivering full line-item receipt data in real time at the moment of purchase. In a short time, Tab built a commercial footprint spanning over 12,000 merchant locations in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, with clients including SEB Cards, Eurocard, AirPlus, Mynt, and Juni. Tab Technology was acquired by Kivra, Sweden's leading digital mailbox platform, in April 2026.
