The American corporate governance advisor Glass Lewis announced today that it will acquire the Swedish startup Esgaia. The SaaS company Esgaia offers a platform for investment management as well as data and workflow management. Among the sellers is the venture capital firm Wellstreet, which has been an investor in Esgaia through its Fintech Fund since its inception in 2021.
Esgaia is a leading SaaS platform that helps fund managers structure and minimize sustainability risks in their portfolio companies by providing support in monitoring and active ownership. Esgaia is now being sold to Glass Lewis, one of the world's foremost players and advisors in corporate governance.
The company was founded by Anton Ljung, Frida Femling, and Simon Kristiansson with the vision of empowering investors in their role as active owners and ensuring that their holdings comply with current sustainability regulations. With Glass Lewis as the new owner, Esgaia gains a robust platform for global expansion.
The transaction is expected to close in April. Deal terms are not being disclosed.
